Nancy Drew: Danger by Design

I've decided to start posting my very own game reviews. I will write a paragraph about each different aspects of the game and will rate each out of 10. Right now I am reviewing my very first Nancy Drew computer game.

Plot:

Nancy goes to Paris to figure out why famous fashion designer, Minnette, has been acting strangely. Nancy's cover assignment is being Minnette's assistant. That plot is sort of hard to believe but is a fascinating twist in contrast to other Nancy Drew games. It is a unique and fun plot.
7/10

Characters:
Minnette- Minnette is very neurotic and has been firing her assistants left and right, is very hot headed, constantly wears a face mask, and is dangerously behind schedule in creating her spring fashion line. She is strange in many ways and very hard to figure out. Nevertheless, she is an fascinating and memorable character.
Heather McKay- Minnette's other assistant. Heather is calm and relaxed.Throughout the game she is very helpful, but not a particularly memorable character.
Jean Michel Traquenard- Editor of a popular fashion magazine. He is loyal to his country and hard to please. He isn't particularly helpful but he has a cool accent:)
Dieter von Schwesterkrank-A French fashion photographer, who used to date Minnette. He is interesting and slightly stuck up. During the game he gives you a few tasks and is pretty helpful.
Jing-Jing Ling- An Australian model whom Nancy is staying with while in France. She's paranoid, famous, and has a knack for making mint chip cookies. She is sort of heartless but she has a wonderful accent. One could listen to her all day!
Overall the characters were fascinating and unique.
9/10

Length:
The game took me about a week to finish, so I liked the length pretty well. I could have been a little longer but nothings perfect. I suppose a more experienced gamer could finish in a day or so, but it took me just long enough to complete.
8/10

Scare Factor:
This game not the least bit scary. I personally like a little scariness so it was kind of disappointing. If you are a scaredy-cat, this would be a good first Nancy Drew for you as it is very mild.
4/10

Setting:

Being in Paris was very cool. There were many places to visit and they all had lovely backgrounds.Every thing about the setting seemed tres French!
9/10

Educationalism: I learned a lot in this game. I learned about the French Resistance, France itself, and even a little of the language. I was very fascinated and it just goes to show that video games CAN be good for you.
9/10

Puzzles:
This game had few puzzles which made me very happy. As puzzles are tedious and seem to take away from the game. The puzzles that were there were pretty easy and if ever needed help I just went to www.uhs-hints.com
7/10

Overall:
This game was fun, interesting, and enjoyable. It is a perfect beginner Nancy Drew game. After all it was my first one. I would recommend to anyone who wants to start playing Nancy Drew games and to anyone who is already a ND fan.

if you read all the way through this thank you. It means a lot to me that you took to read about what I care about.

Chicken Eggs

My chickens finally laid eggs! My dad found the eggs in a feed bucket in our barn. The eggs are little and brown. They taste really really good. I had half of the first one this morning and my sister had the other half. My mom scrambled it. I am not a fan of eggs, in fact I generally hate them. But, these eggs have a special taste. I just love them. If anyone is considering buying chicks I would definitely recommend. Normally, at this moment I would be listing the perks of owning chickens. But my sister is bugging me about giving her a turn on the computer,so,Ciao for now!

The Worlds Smallest Political Quiz

I took the world's smallest political quiz and found out that I am a right leaning Centrist. I tell you this because I think one should be proud of what they believe in.
I encourage you all to follow the link and take the quiz, as I am curious about your results.

Goodbyes

Why are goodbyes so sad? Why must I even have to say the word,"Goodbye"? I don't know the answers to either of those questions, but I do know that I had to bid farewell to Aunt Beckah and Uncle Craig. They left for Tennessee, and I don't know when I'll see them again. We did have a good time while they were here. London sang us the songs 'Yesterday' and 'Hey Jude', while Thatcher tried his hardest to crawl across the floor. (he didn't succeed) I know that I'll see them again, but it is still very hard to say goodbye.
